Mr. Warren Solomon, Director of the Community HUB Corporation
As a 29-year veteran of the travel, hospitality and tourism industry, Warren Solomon has spent the majority of his career contributing to the development of tourism in the Caribbean. In his native Trinidad & Tobago, he was Director of Tourism for the national tourism office (TIDCO) and subsequently for the Tobago House of Assembly, where he specifically managed the marketing and product development operations for Tobago. Prior to that, he was the Marketing Manager for the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism, having responsibility for activities in the US and Argentina.
He began his career in the airline industry with two of the Caribbean’s oldest carriers; first at LIAT and then at BWIA, where he managed that airline’s frequent flyer programme in conjunction with Continental Airlines, as well as the airline’s package tour and loyalty club programmes.
An avid scuba diver, he immediately jumped at the opportunity to join the team at Dive Training Magazine – the oldest dive publication in North America – where he had responsibility for marketing, sales and sponsorships in the Caribbean and Central America.
As Director of Sales at the Crowne Plaza Hotel (now the Radisson Trinidad) he improved customer acquisition and also developed and implemented a training programme on service delivery for front office and security.
Now in the role of General Manager – Marketing at the Tourism Development Company he plans to adopt a collaborative approach with local tourism stakeholders to strengthen and manage Trinidad & Tobago’s brand attributes, providing travellers with compelling reasons to visit the destination.
